Directions to the Oyster Island Adventures Fishing Camp:

It is possible to drive to Gold River BC. You simply arrive on the Island by air or ferry and take highway 28 from Campbell River directly to Gold River. Driving
From Campbell River, BC: It is a 1.15 hour drive west along Highway 28 to Gold River and Nootka Sound. Gold River is 5.5 hrs from Victoria by car, 3 hrs from Nanaimo. We can arrange to pick up fishing parties in Gold River in our boat. Oyster Island is a 45 minute boat ride from Gold River. Optionally, from Gold River clients can drive 45 minutes to Cougar Creek where we will pick them up by boat, or if kayaking they can take the Uchuck 250-283-2355 (passenger ferry) reservations are necessary. The MV Uchuck takes supplies and passenger a few times a week from Gold River to Friendly Cove and as far as Kyuquot Sound and will lower kayakers into the ocean along the way.
