NOOTKA SOUND BC SALMON FISHING LODGE
Vancouver Island Fishing Charters
Sightseeing Tours
Your Hosts Gary and Karen Foster
"You've been dreaming of a BC salmon fishing
trip long enough, it's time to experience it!"

Visit Oyster Island in Nootka Sound
on the West coast of Vancouver Island and experience our famous BC
salmon fishing. Chinook Salmon (Kings) and Coho Salmon runs from June
to September. The bottom fishing for whitefish including Halibut (view
our youtube video), Ling Cod, Snapper and Black Bass is fantastic
and the BC coastal scenery is unbelievable.
The winter months are our favourite time of the year on Oyster Island.
From November to March there is an abundance of crab, clams, oysters
and prawns in Nootka Sound. Collecting them is half the fun and seafood
doesn’t get any fresher, or tastier, than this. Winter storms
and big fish stories provide our entertainment.
We would like to share our piece of paradise with you. Historical Nootka
Sound is on the beautiful West Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia,
Canada. Marine life and wildlife abound in this area and it is not
unusual to see Grey or Humpback Whales, and maybe even a Killer Whale,
Sea Lions, Seals, Bears, Eagles, Pacific Loons and much more all depending
on the time of the year. Nootka Sound fishing combines natural beauty
with natures abundance and is truly Vancouver Island fishing at its
very best! Here are a few Photos
of Oyster Island.
Vancouver Island Hospitality
Your meals at Oyster Island fishing lodge will be a taste experience.
We try to cook healthy as possible, using our own home grown greens and
fresh herbs and lots of seafood in what we like to call our West Coast
style of cooking.
During the winter/spring months after an adventurous day of collecting
seafood and seeing the sights of Nootka Sound you can relax in our saltwater
wood heated hot tub, or tell some scary stories by the campfire before
going off to bed to cuddle up in a homemade quilt.
Besides
having the lodge to stay in there is a very cute honey-mooners cabin
for couples all situated on a 20-acre privately owned island. The lodge
is accessed by taking a 45-minute boat ride or seaplane from Gold River
to Oyster Island. Once you get to Oyster Island the lodge is a 100-meter
walk across the beach or you can take a trail through the old growth
forest. You do need to be in relatively good shape to get back and forth
from your cottage in the woods to the dock. The lodge has a large eat
in kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, flush toilet and hot shower. It
can accommodate up to 6 guests comfortably. (view
our youtube video).
The Boat
Our fishing and touring boat is a 22Ft welded aluminum SilverStreak,
with a 225hp Honda outboard, and a 9.5hp kicker. The heated cabin
is fully enclosed and in case of emergency there is a private porta
potty in the cuddy. We supply all fishing gear, tackle, bait and
look after you and your catch until you leave us.
Take advantage of our 3 night/4 day fishing packages or mix fishing
with sightseeing boat tours or sightseeing eco tours. We can put together
the Vancouver Island, BC getaway you have dreamed of.
Also available are day fishing charters and day tours or
sightseeing trips.
We look forward to hearing from you
soon
